# Account and Security

Create your account, secure access and check identity verification.

Create your TRAIEX account, protect access and complete any verification required for the feature you want to use.

## Create an account

1. Select **Get started** in the website header.
2. Enter your email and create a unique password.
3. Review the terms shown in the registration form and submit it.
4. Enter the verification code sent to your email.

Check spam if the email does not arrive. If the code expires, request a new one and use the most recent code. Completing email verification does not complete identity verification.

## Enable two-factor authentication

Open the profile menu, then **Security → Two-Factor Authentication**.

1. Begin setup and follow the instructions for your authenticator app.
2. Save the recovery key securely, separately from the device used for authentication.
3. Scan the displayed QR code.
4. Enter the requested verification codes and confirm.
5. Check that two-factor authentication is enabled before leaving the page.

Do not share a setup QR code, recovery key, password or one-time code. If you lose access to your authenticator, use the account recovery process through official support; a recovery time is not guaranteed.

In **Security**, you can also review **Device Management**, **Account Activity**, your **Address Book**, saved **Send-to** recipients and the **Anti-phishing Code**.

## Complete identity verification

Open **Verification** in account settings. Read the requirements for your country and the feature you want to use, then follow the displayed steps to submit your details and requested documents.

A submitted application is not an approval. Check the status after submission and follow any request for additional information. Express Buy indicates that ID verification is required. Other products or providers may have their own checks.

## Sign in and out

Select **Log in**, enter your account details and complete any requested security check. Check the website address before entering credentials.

To finish a session, use **Log Out** in your profile menu, especially on a shared device.

## If you cannot sign in

* Use **Forgot password** on the login screen if needed.
* Use the latest email code and check your authenticator device's time settings if a code is rejected.
* Follow any temporary restrictions shown after an account change.
* Contact [Support](https://traiex.gitbook.io/user-guides/support) if access cannot be restored.

## Understand account checks

| Check                       | Purpose                                                |
| --------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------ |
| 2FA                         | Protect access with an additional authentication step. |
| KYC                         | Verify an individual's identity.                       |
| KYB                         | Verify a company and its representative's authority.   |
| Transaction screening (KYT) | Assess risk associated with a crypto transaction.      |

These checks serve different purposes; completing one does not replace another.

TRAIEX identity verification usually takes **up to 24 hours**. Additional checks may take longer, so this is an estimate, not a guaranteed deadline. Follow the status and any request in **Verification**. This estimate does not apply to a separate card, bank or payment-provider approval.
